36 workers honoured at 3rd Duker Teachers, Health Workers’ awards

 A Business Management teacher at the Tarkwa Senior High School, Francis Ar­cher, last Friday emerged the overall best at the Third Duker Teachers and Health Workers’ awards held at Cyanide, in the Tarkwa -Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region.

He received a plaque and a new brand saloon car valued at $14,000, in addition to GH¢ 5,000 donated by Professor Douglas Boateng, Chairman of the Mineral Income Investment Fund (MIIF) Board.

The awards under the theme “Championing learning and wellness in our communities,” which hon­oured 36 recipients, began in 2022 to celebrate teachers and health workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Tark­wa-Nsuaem, Mr George Mireku Duker, explained that, the pro­gramme was to honour teachers and health workers.

He said “education was the most impactful tool for changing the world.”

“Teachers are the fulcrum around which all discoveries and advance­ments of knowledge in all facets of life revolves. Hence the need to support them in delivering the necessary training to our future leaders,” he added.
