Some 53,887 students who failed to meet the requirements for automatic placement in the 2026 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) have been given a second opportunity to gain admission to senior high schools (SHSs) and technical institutions through self-placement.
The figure represents 94.1 per cent of the 57,259 candidates who fell outside the automatic placement category.
The remaining 3,372 candidates, who did not sit the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and, therefore, have no examination results, will not be placed this year but will be given the opportunity to re-sit the examination.
