The fifth edition of the “Meqasa Home and Property Fair” slated for June 4 and 5, this year, has been launched in Accra yesterday.
Organised by Meqasa.com, a leading property website, in partnership with Goldkey Properties, the fair is expected to bring together hundreds of property seekers, developers, agents and ancillary service providers, onto a common platform to promote buying and selling as well as making informed decisions on Ghana’s real estate industry.
This year, over 40 real estate and housing projects from top developers in the country would be on offer alongside seminars from industry players, home financing packages from investment specialists and financial service providers, to give patrons good deals.
Chief Executive Officer of Meqasa.com, Kelvin Nyame, speaking at the launch, said the fair aimed at promoting the general growth of the real estate industry, promising clients amazing property deals with great discount opportunities.
“The Meqasa Home and Property Fair, as always, promises to be an excellentnetworking avenue while presenting the public with a wide array of exclusivediscounts on properties from top tier developers such as Goldkey Properties Ltd, VaalReal Estate Ghana, Swami India Ghana Ltd and many others”.
Acting Executive Director of GREDA, Samuel Amegayibor, lauded Meqasa for being consistent in organising the housing fair to showcase the potential of the real estate industry.
He,however, appealed to government to take immediate steps to sustain the sector in the face of present economic challenges.
“We need to make the environment friendly for the real estate business in Ghana to thrive. Prices of building materials keep rising astronomically each day and government must step in to cushion industry players.
We propose that government tax components on these building materials are waived as soon as possible and peg a flat rate tax on them so that properties can be sold at much affordable prices and we can reduce the housing deficit in the country,” Mr Amegayibor, urged.
For her part, the Managing Director of Goldkey Properties Ltd, Ms Fusseina Abu, expressed her company’s resolve to strengthen partnership within the sector to give clients value for money.
“Goldkey Properties is excited to be the lead sponsor for this year’s Meqasa Fair. We look forward to offering exciting deals and giveaways in commemoration of our 25th anniversary, this year,” he stated.
