The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has received a donation of GH¢450,000 from Abitjack Construction Works Limited to support the expansion of educational infrastructure under the Education Financing Partnership Initiative (EFPI).

The funding will be used as a targeted intervention at Ghana National Secondary School, where it will finance the construction of a six-unit toilet facility. The project is expected to significantly improve sanitation and enhance overall student welfare.

Presenting the cheque, the Managing Director of Abitjack Construction, Anthony Tweneboah-Kodua, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving learning environments across the country.

He emphasised that investing in essential school infrastructure is critical to promoting academic success and preserving the dignity of students.

He added that aligning the company’s efforts with GETFund’s mandate ensures that corporate contributions produce tangible outcomes that directly improve teaching and learning conditions.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the GETFund Administrator, the Deputy Administrator, Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa, commended Abitjack Construction for its proactive approach to corporate social responsibility.

He underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing infrastructure challenges within Ghana’s education sector, noting that the EFPI framework plays a vital role in mobilising private sector support for critical educational projects.

Mr Dandaawa also expressed appreciation to the management of Abitjack Construction and the GETFund fundraising team for building partnerships that continue to deliver meaningful results.

He further called on other corporate organisations to emulate Abitjack’s example, stressing that sustained collaboration is essential to strengthening Ghana’s education system and ensuring that schools are equipped with the facilities needed to support quality teaching and learning.
