Black Stars winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, says the team is fit, focused, and ready to make Ghana proud.

He made the remark after one of the team’s training session as they prepare for tomorrow’s 2026 FIFA World Cup opener against Panama in Toronto.

He said every member of the team was ready when called upon to represent the nation at where he believes was the biggest football platform.

The Leicester forward told Ghanafa.com after Sunday’s training session at the Bryant University that the mood in camp was positive and the squad was determined to start the tournament strongly.

“For training and preparation, it has been very good; so far, so good. The energy in camp is great, and everyone is ready. Training is going well and we’re just getting ready. Personally, I’ve enjoyed the sessions. It’s positive — I can see the changes. We’re getting fit and getting ready for the game,” he underlined.

On making another FIFA World Cup appearance, he responded:I feel amazing because it’s always a dream come true to be part of a World Cup team. I’m privileged to be part of this team, and this is my second time. The first time was about experience and I learnt a lot. Now I’m going to put in everything to help the team get to a better position.”

Commenting on Ghana’s chances, he expressed confidence in the abilities of every player in camp, stressing that each player comes with unique talents which would be blended well to become a formidable team.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars left Rhode Island for Toronto yesterday-two days before they take on Panama in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

While in Toronto, the team will hold an official training session at the BMO Field today before facing the Central Americans tomorrow.
