The Ashaiman District Football Association (ASDA) will today hold a day’s coaching seminar for grassroots coaches at the St. Augustine Catholic School in Ashaiman.
The event will attract over 40 coaches from third division and colts clubs aimed at preparing coaches ahead of the License D coaching course which begins later this month.
Speaking to the Times Sports, Chairman of ASDA, Mr Raphael Tommy, said the initiative will equip the coaches with the modern methods of coaching.
“It is important to have the fundamentals of coaching before enrolling for the License D, which is a basic requirement for every club in employing a professional coach”, he said.
He expressed optimism the seminar will pave way for the coaches to enroll in License C and B courses.
“It is always the best to upgrade yourself in your profession to attain higher heights. I believe from this stage, most of the coaches will push to the next level”, he added.
Mr Tommy said the event was free and will be facilitated by the Greater Accra Coaches Association (GACA) Licensed B development coach, Wilson Asare
