THE Association of Spouses of Heads of Missions and International Organisations (ASOHOM) has successfully held its annual charity gala at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.

Held on October 2 under the theme “Woven Currents”, the event brought together members of the diplomatic and international community, distinguished guests, corporate partners, artists, friends of Ghana and supporters of the association’s charitable work.

A statement signed by the President of ASOHOM, Sovanna Taliercio, who is also the chairperson of its fundraising committee, said the gala celebrated friendship, culture and creativity while reaffirming the association’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in communities.

It said water was at the heart of this year’s theme, which highlighted the connection between water, life and the shared future of humanity.

“Through art, music and live performance, the gala highlighted the vital connection between water, life and our shared future, while drawing attention to the importance of protecting Ghana’s water resources and supporting sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities,” the statement said.

The evening featured an exhibition of contemporary Ghanaian art, live performances, an auction and raffle, as well as a dinner and opportunities for guests to network and support the cause.

The association expressed appreciation to its sponsors, partners and guests, saying their generosity had contributed to the success of the event.

Their support, it said, demonstrated what could be achieved when people came together with a shared purpose.

The statement said funds raised through ASOHOM’s charitable initiatives would support projects aligned with its humanitarian priorities and commitment to promoting meaningful and sustainable development in Ghana.

“I am especially proud of what ASOHOM represents: a community of women and men from across the diplomatic and international community who come together beyond their official roles to build bridges, strengthen partnerships and give back to the country we are privileged to call home,” Madam Taliercio said.

She said the success of “Woven Currents” demonstrated the power of collaboration, compassion and collective action.

“It reminds us that when we come together, even small contributions can create lasting impact,” she added.
