Box Office Sports (BOS), a boxing promotion syndicate has warned that it will not back down on its intention to institute a legal action against national super featherweight champion, Michael Ansah, aka ‘One Bullet’ over defamatory comments by the boxer.

By the instruction of BOS lawyers, Ansah has within a month to pull down the publications and render unqualified apologies on the same platforms the publications were made, or face legal proceedings that would sought to claim damages including aggravated, special, and general damages for defamation, libel, and slander.

“In order to resolve this matter without recourse to formal litigation, our client demands that you comply strictly and in full with each of the following by no later than close of Wednesday, May 13.”

According to the lawyers, failure, neglect, or refusal to comply with each and every one of the demands will lead to the commencement of legal proceedings.

But, as of yesterday, Mr Alex Ntiamoah Boakye, CEO of BOS confirmed to The Times Sports that there have been attempts from the boxer to broker a peace deal but must meet the request made in the notice served.

In the Social media video, the boxer made several claims against BOS and its CEO, Alex Ntiamoah Boakye, asserting among others that BOS underpays boxers, deliberately waits for boxers to fall out of peak or physical condition before offering them contests with the calculated intention of causing those boxers to lose and actively conspires to have boxers beaten.

But the notice issued by A&N Law Consult, lawyers of BOS signed by Michael Lartey ESQ described the statements as entirely false and without foundation.

Responding to the claims, the statement said boxing promotion was governed by purse agreements negotiated and executed between the parties prior to any contractual engagement.

On claims about boxers’ physical conditioning, it explained that “Box Office Sports plans its events a minimum of three months in advance, affording every participating boxer ample and adequate time to prepare.

On the claims that BOS actively conspires to have boxers beaten, it described the statement as “malicious, entirely without foundation, and calculated to injure BOS’ professional reputation and corporate standing.

On the issue about career regression, the statement dismissed it, saying that “it was plainly designed to deter professional boxers from engaging BOS, thereby causing direct and quantifiable economic harm to the business.

Consequently, Ansah was asked to immediately cease and desist from making, publishing, broadcasting, or in any manner disseminating further defamatory, false, or disparaging statements concerning BOS, whether orally, in writing, or through any digital or social media platform whatsoever.
