CAF Women’s Champions League 2023 draws set up exciting encounters

The battle lines have officially been drawn for the CAF Women’s Champi­ons League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023, after CAF conducted the Official Draw on Monday, October 9, at a glitter­ing ceremony attended by repre­sentatives from CAF’s six zones, participating clubs as well as key African football stakeholders.

A total of eight African women’s football clubs consisting of cham­pions of the respective CAF Zones and two additional clubs were engaged in the Draw, which was conducted by two African football legends, Fernande Tchetche of Cote d’Ivoire, alongside TotalEn­ergies WAFCON 2022 winning captain, Janine Van Wyk of South Africa.

As expected, the Draw set up what promises to be another memorable spectacle of African women’s football between Novem­bers 5 – 19.

All eyes will be on the tour­nament hosts, Athletico FC d’Abidjan, who have been drawn in Group A alongside inaugural champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, SC Casablanca of Morocco and Tanzania’s JKT Queens.

Reigning champions, AS FAR, headline a tough Group B consist­ing of Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa, Huracanes of Equatorial Guinea as well as AS Mande of Mali.

The format of the competitions sees each side playing against each other within their group in a round-robin format, with the top two finishers advancing to the semi-finals to contest a place in the finals.

The competition will be hosted in two beautiful cities of Cote D’Ivoire namely, San Pedro (Stade Laurent Pokou) and Korhogo (Sta­de Amadou Gon Coulibaly).-CAF­CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Draw Results:
