The Management of Ghana Water Limited (GWL) says it will shut down the Dodowa Booster Station today to enable the Engineering Team undertake scheduled maintenance works aimed at improving the operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the water supply system.
As a result of the exercise, customers in communities supplied by the Dodowa Booster Station will experience temporary interruption of water supply or reduced water pressure throughout the planned 24-hour maintenance period.
The Communications Manager of the GWL, Mr Stanley Mantey, in a statement issued in Accra on Tuesday copied The Ghanaian Times mentioned affected areas as East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, and all adjoining communities served by the Dodowa Booster Station.
“Customers are kindly advised to store sufficient water ahead of the planned shutdown and use the available supply judiciously throughout the maintenance period.
GWL assures the public that its engineers will work diligently to complete the maintenance exercise within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately the works are completed, “it said.
The statement said management expressed regrets about the inconvenience this temporary interruption may cause and sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of customers as it undertakes these essential maintenance works to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery.
