The government has launched an initiative to revolutionise tomato farming and reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported tomatoes.
Dubbed the Ghana Tomato Self-Sufficiency Initiative (GHATSI), the first phase is expected to produce 100,000 metric tonnes of tomatoes during the 2026/2027 production cycle.
The initiative, being undertaken in partnership with FarmMate Limited, will be implemented on 10,000 acres across 40 districts in 12 regions and more than 100 communities. Read More
