Engen transition to MISA Energy … to build distinctly African energy brand

 Engen Ghana, a pe­troleum downstream player Engen Ghana, has rebranded as MISA Ener­gy Ghana Limited, marking a significant transition that aligns with the company’s vision to offer innovative products and services to cherished consumers, and to drive its long-term growth strategy.

The rebranding reflects the company’s ambitious quest to build a distinctly African energy brand rooted in Ghanaian lead­ership and global standards, and to efficiently leverage emerging opportunities in the country’s dynamic energy sector.

“Our new brand represents who we are becoming—more in­novative, more customer-focused, and more aligned to the future we are building together,” chief executive officer of the company, Brent Nartey, said at the official launch and brand unveiling cere­mony in Accra.

“It’s a promise to our cus­tomers to fuel their dreams and put them first. MISA Energy is a symbol of the trust we’ve earned over the years and the ambition that drives us forward,” she said.

While its name and identity has changed, the company as­sured stakeholders of its com­mitment to service excellence—a core value that has defined the operations and success of the brand over the years.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, commended the leadership of MISA Energy for their seamless dedication to the growth of the petroleum down­stream sector.

To him, the rebranding of the company must resonate with innovation, superior service de­livery to consumers and produc­tivity for clients and partners.

Mr Gyan-Mensah disclosed that the ministry was undertak­ing transformative steps in the sector to ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and clean energy to all Ghanaians.

In furtherance of the green transition agenda, he implored oil marketing companies to take advantage of the initiative in line with the government’s commit­ment to net zero—which is a cli­mate action on carbon emission.

Also, to upscale local dominance in the petroleum downstream sector, he said the ministry was working through the NPA to encourage mergers between small-sized indigenous oil marketing companies to pool capital and enhance their compet­itiveness within the space.

On his part, chief executive officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, tasked MISA Energy to embrace innovation to thrive in the ever-evolving petroleum industry.

“There is massive competition in the petroleum downstream sector; as the brand transitions, I implore the company, especially the staff, to prioritise premium quality services that meet the demands of customers,” he said.

The chief executive officer of the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), Dr River­son Oppong, affirmed MISA En­ergy’s unshakable dedication to excellence, industry partnership and seamless service delivery.

To him, MISA Energy’s new brand identity must be a renais­sance and public declaration of renewed purpose and also ignite a renewed spirit of collaboration with industry players.

“A renewed identity is a chance to re-centre your purpose, re-energise your company and reconnect with the communities you serve; it’s about how you stay relevant and trusted,” he noted.
