THE Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has begun engagements with the leadership of the three pre-tertiary teacher unions as part of efforts to finalise their collective agreement and conditions of service.
The engagement forms part of government’s efforts to address the outstanding concerns of the teachers following the nationwide strike declared by the unions.
The three unions are the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Pre-Tertiary Teachers Association of Graduate (PRETAG).
The meeting, held in Accra yesterday, provided an opportunity for the FWSC and the union leaders to discuss the issues and demands raised by the unions.
Speaking after the meeting, the Chief Executive of the FWSC, Dr George Smith-Graham, said the Commission would undertake further consultations before the negotiations resumed. Read More
