The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga Central, Mr. Emmanuel Adotey Allotey, has outlined a new development agenda for Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency, prioritising job creation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
The announcement was made during a community engagement event where Mr Allotey highlighted the government’s renewed focus on grassroots development under the leadership of President John Mahama.
The event was held under the theme: “Delivering Our Promise, Resetting Ghana- The Power of the Branch.”
“These are not promises- they are deliverables,” Mr Allotey said, stressing the government’s commitment to action rather than talk-shop.
As part of efforts to boost local commerce, the MCE announced plans to transform the Chantan Market into a 24-hour economic hub. A new round-the-clock market will also be constructed near St. Justine Anglican School in Ablekuma to support informal traders, especially women.
Healthcare delivery will also see major improvements. Mr. Allotey stated that the long-abandoned Ablekuma-Abase Hospital and the Olebu CHPS compound will be fully restored and operationalised to improve access to essential health services for underserved communities.
On education, Mr. Allotey disclosed that beyond the planned TVET-focused Community Senior High School, the Assembly will also undertake the construction of new Kindergarten (KG), Primary, and Junior High Schools (JHS) to meet the growing demand for quality basic education within the municipality.
The development package also includes the construction of an Astroturf pitch at Israel Park, road and drainage upgrades, improved sanitation, and enhanced street lighting in several neglected areas.
He reiterated President Mahama’s commitment to reducing unemployment through targeted job creation programmes, and assured residents that government interventions would also ensure a conducive working environment to drive economic revitalization and long-term development.
“The Ga Central Assembly is proud to be playing its part in advancing His Excellency the President’s agenda for inclusive growth and social equity. Together, we are working to ensure that development is not only promised- but delivered,” Mr. Allotey said.
He encouraged residents and party branch executives to support the implementation of these projects, noting that local participation will be critical to delivering results under the Mahama-led development vision
