GCB Bank Mgt celebrates sports team

 The Management of GCB Bank has hosted the Bank’s sportsmen and women to honour their achievements at this year’s City Business Olympics.

The sports team won the championship for the seventh consecutive time.

They won nine awards, comprising of six gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals, to solidify its position as the overall winner for 2024.

Mr Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey, the Deputy Managing Director, Operations (DMD Ops), attributed the success to teamwork and perseverance.

“They have not only chalked victories but have also cultivated relationships that will last through­out their lives’ journey. You have exemplified the spirit of the eagle, and in line with the Bank’s vision, dominated in this discipline. It also rehashes the fact that at GCB, we go beyond”, he noted.

The gathering created the perfect atmosphere where stories about past games were shared, evoking a sense of memory while emphasising connection, teamwork, and the shared joy of communal celebration.

He commended key individuals like the Sports Committee Chair­man, Mr John Adamah, General Secretary Samuel Moses, Treasurer Oliver Akpade, Team Manager Julius Ablor, Coordinator for Women’s Sports Ruth Nana Ama Asamoah, Coordinator for Foot­ball Gideon Fosu, Coordinator for Team Logistics, John Kofi Boja, along with Executive Members, Emmanuel Kottey Addo, Eyram Bonnie, Joseph Agyemang, and Ruby Hyde Quaynorson for the key roles they played to chalk the success
