The Executive Council (ExCo) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is scheduled to hold an important meeting tomorrow to deliberate on a number of key issues on the development of football in the country.
The performance of the Black Stars in recent times will be high on the agenda for the meeting.
The performance of the team lately, especially in the just ended AFCON 2025 qualifiers has left a sour taste in the mouth.
This has resulted in calls on the FA to take drastic measures in order to save the team from its free fall. Calls to sack the Stars manager, Otto Addo, have also been loud enough to dominate discussion in the meeting expected to focus on other areas.
The ExCo will also discuss a plan of GFA Retreat, which is expected to take place soon. This retreat is anticipated to provide a platform for members and all stakeholders in Ghana Football to make insightful contributions to discussions aimed at enhancing the development of the game in Ghana.
The ExCo meeting, according to an FA statement, will receive updates on the various domestic competitions, including the Ghana Premier League, the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, the MTN FA Cup and the Women’s FA Cup.
In addition, members will be briefed on the latest developments with the other national teams, including the Black Queens, Black Galaxies, the Black Satellites, Black Princesses, Black Starlets, and the Black Maidens.
The U15 Boys and Girls Schools programme will also be discussed, according to the statement.
The Regional Football Associations (RFAs) will also feature prominently on the agenda, with the ExCo members set to receive updates on the activities of the 10 RFAs, 2nd Division, 3rd Division, Colts and the Regional Women’s Division One Leagues.
Moreover, it revealed that reports will be provided on the KGL U17 Colts Championship and the TDS Elite U15 boys and girls Colts Championships.
Other items on the agenda include updates on the various projects being undertaken by the GFA, including the ongoing works at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) at Prampram. –Ghanafa.org
