The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Prosper Harrison Addo, has said Ghana is ready for the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), which is set to become operational in the 2024–2025 season.
“Club licensing is the single most important tool that can change the game. Here in Ghana, we have been on a journey, and I am glad that we are now at the stage where we can do this online.”
Mr Addo gave the assurance at the official closing ceremony of the final lap of the CAF Regional Club Licensing Workshops for the 15 Member Associations (MA’s) of CAF in Accra last week.
He acknowledged the difficulty with the process but when successfully implemented, it can change the game on the continent.
“It is not an event! It is a process so I will urge that we all pursue its implementation on a continuing basis; continuous improvement years in and out, and together we will build the professional game in Africa.”
According to him, the uniqueness of attending a workshop like the CLOP was to build a network that one can rely on when challenges arise, urging all to tap into
the human resources available to solve problems in order to build the African game.
He expressed gratitude to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the opportunity to host the final leg of the workshop in Ghana.
The GFA General Secretary was full of praise for the Head of Professional Football at CAF, Muhammed Sidat, for his enviable commitment to the club licensing regime.
The general objectives of the workshop were to train users for the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), present the CAF Club Licensing regulatory framework (2022 edition) for men and women, and discuss the mandatory criteria for domestic and continental competitions
