The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Ghana, Sultan Abdulrahman Al Dakhel, has encouraged investors and business leaders from both Ghana and the Kingdom to seize the emerging opportunities in trade and investment.
In particular, he emphasised the importance of utilising modern digital platforms and fostering enhanced engagements that can bolster bilateral cooperation.
He made this appeal during a reception in Accra on Tuesday, commemorating the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which gathered dignitaries from both nations to celebrate the event.
Sultan Al Dakhel highlighted the Kingdom’s pride in being Ghana’s oldest bilateral partner from the Arabian Gulf region.
He underscored that relations between the two countries, built on mutual respect and friendship, continue to grow, with opportunities in investment, development, and service delivery taking centre stage.
He expressed appreciation to the government for the support and cooperation extended to the Kingdom, pledging that Saudi Arabia would work closely with Ghana to elevate relations to greater heights in line with the shared vision of the two leaderships.
The Ambassador emphasised the spiritual ties binding the two nations, underscoring the efforts of the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to provide quality services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, including those from Ghana, to perform their religious duties in peace, safety, and comfort.
On behalf of the government, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr James Gyakye Quayson, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the people of Saudi Arabia on the milestone.
He described Saudi Arabia as a long-standing partner of Ghana, recalling the Kingdom’s contributions to socio-economic development through the Saudi Fund for Development and other initiatives in energy, water supply, education, health, and infrastructure.
Mr Quayson also noted that the country highly appreciates the increased quota granted for Ghanaian pilgrims during the most recent Hajj season, describing it as a gesture that strengthened the bonds of fraternity between the two peoples.
He assured the Kingdom of the country’s readiness to continue working together, both bilaterally and multilaterally, to promote peace, security, and sustainable development globally.
The Deputy Minister stressed that Ghana and Saudi Arabia share converging priorities in digital transformation, renewable energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and investment promotion.
“I am confident that the business communities of both countries will seize the opportunities offered by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda and Ghana’s national development programmes to forge stronger commercial partnerships,” he noted.
He underscored the need to conclude and implement further agreements and memoranda of understanding that would translate into tangible benefits for their citizens.
The event, which brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and traditional authorities, was also a celebration of Saudi Arabia’s journey of unity, progress, and modernisation.
At the climax of the event, a toast was made in honour of the health of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, alongside a celebration of the lasting friendship between Ghana and Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity for both countries.
