Ghana to host ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier

Ghana is set to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B tournament from March 24 to 29.

The competition will feature six teamsGhana, Malawi, St. Helena, Eswatini, Seychelles and Tanzania—all competing for qualification to the next stage of the World Cup pathway.

According to a statement issued by the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) and signed by its President, Mr Emmanuel Asare, the tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing the others once.

Mr Asare explained that the top two teams at the end of the competition would qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Regional Qualifier, a crucial phase in the journey towards securing a place at the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

All matches will be played at the Achimota Cricket Oval in Accra.

The GCA President expressed confidence that the tournament would be highly competitive and entertaining, noting that it would showcase the growing strength of African cricket.

He urged cricket enthusiasts and sports lovers across the country to turn up in their numbers to support the national team.
