Ghana will face-off against West African rivals, Nigeria, in the second round of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers in December.
The Black Galaxies were pit against their Nigerian counterpart during Wednesday’s draw at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The first leg of the tie takes place on December 20-22 in Ghana, before the return leg on December 27-29 in Nigeria.
Ghana eliminated Nigeria to secure qualification to the last edition of the CHAN tournament in Algeria after post-match penalty shootouts after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
The winner of the two-legged ties will secure their spot in the CHAN 2024 to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.
Ghana and Nigeria have a long-standing rivalry in what is expected to be a thrilling two-legged affair.
Meanwhile, Ghana will play Niger, Benin and host, Togo, in the group stage of the TotalEnergies WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations.
Coach Desmond Offei and Mohammed Kudus – Black Stars his charges will kick off their campaign against Benin on the opening day of the qualifiers at the Stade de Kegue on October 17.
The second group game takes place three days later at the Stade Municipal Stadium where the team will take on Niger on October 20.
The last group game in the qualifying campaign will be against host, Togo, on October 23.
The Black Satellites will be aiming at picking one of the spots in the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The WAFU Zone B U-20 Cup of Nations is scheduled from October 17 – 31, 2024. –Ghanafa.org
