The Chief of Gomoa Tarkwa in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Daasebre Atta Kwakwa Egyir Opusu VII, has called for increased investment in education in rural communities to improve access to learning materials and give students equal opportunities to succeed.
He said the provision of textbooks, financial assistance and essential educational facilities would help address the challenges facing students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
The chief, who is also the Director of Pensions at the Ghana Police Service, made the call on Monday when he distributed free textbooks to pupils and provided financial assistance to 100 tertiary students at Gomoa Tarkwa.
He said education was critical to community development and urged the government, corporate organisations, philanthropists and individuals to support schools in the area with the necessary infrastructure and learning resources.
Daasebre Atta Kwakwa Egyir Opusu VII also called for the establishment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories and libraries to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to compete in an increasingly technology-driven world. Read More.
