Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Junior High School at Ahinsan Estate in Kumasi has held its 24th graduation ceremony, celebrating the academic achievements and discipline of its final-year students.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, was on the theme: ‘Rising Above Challenges; Creating Your Own Opportunities.’

Addressing the gathering, the Guest of Honour, Mr James Asante, urged the graduating students to remain determined and focused in the pursuit of their goals despite the challenges they may encounter in life.

He said success was not determined by circumstances alone but by one’s willingness to persevere, work hard and take advantage of opportunities.

He encouraged the students to develop confidence in their abilities and avoid limiting themselves because of setbacks or difficult circumstances. According to him, creating opportunities often requires initiative, discipline and a positive attitude.

Mr Asante also commended the graduating class for their commitment to academic work and good conduct throughout their years in the school. He urged them to uphold the values of integrity, respect and discipline as they move on to senior high school.

“Good Shepherd RC JHS has earned a reputation for academic excellence and discipline. Over the years, the school has consistently recorded impressive results and produced graduates who have excelled in senior high schools and tertiary institutions across the country,” he said.

Mr Asnate attributed the school’s success to the dedication of teachers, the support of parents and the hard work of students. He said the school’s commitment to quality education, moral training and effective supervision had contributed significantly to its achievements.

Parents and guardians, who attended the ceremony, expressed pride in the accomplishments of the graduating class and commended the school for maintaining high educational standards.

The event featured cultural performances, poetry recitals and presentations by students, adding colour and excitement to the celebration as the school marked another milestone in its academic journey.
