The 1985 year group of Ghana Senior High School (GSHS), Koforidua, has handed over two major projects to their alma mater.

The facilities, worth over GH¢120,000, include a four-unit modern water closet for classrooms and a geophysics borehole for the boys’ dormitories.

Chairman of the project committee, Mr James Henyo, said the interventions were meant to reduce the stress students endure in searching for water and to save classroom time lost when attending to nature’s call outside.

He emphasised that the gesture was part of the group’s commitment to give back to the school.

At a meeting with staff, Mr Henyo urged teachers not to be discouraged by current national challenges but to remain dedicated to shaping future leaders.

He also highlighted previous contributions of the group and pledged support for the school’s anniversary celebrations and Science and Maths Quiz preparations.

A committee member, Mr Felix Addo-Okyere, encouraged the teachers to value their profession, stressing that all leaders pass through the hands of teachers.

“You are the only profession that develops the mind and trains people to take leadership roles,” he said, assuring them their labour would never be in vain.

President of the group, Madam Aso Adu Anumedu, presented the keys and documents to the Assistant Headmaster (Administration) and urged maintenance of the projects.

On behalf of the headmistress, staff, and students, Mr Dunoe expressed gratitude and appealed to other year groups for support.
