Medeama SC, leaders of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), dropped crucial points after a dramatic 1-1 stalemate with Aduana FC at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa.

The match, delayed by heavy rainfall from its original Friday schedule, saw Medeama take the lead through Salim Adams’ spectacular free-kick. The Tarkwa crowd erupted as it looked like the home side would extend their dominance.

However, Aduana FC fought back, with Seidu Saana leveling the score in the 70th minute. In a tense finish, Medeama were awarded a penalty late in the game when Derrick Fordjour was fouled in the box. Captain Yussif Mubarik stepped up, but his spot-kick failed to beat the goalkeeper, leaving the home fans stunned. The draw keeps Medeama seven points clear at the summit, but it gives chasing teams a chance to close the gap in the remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, at the Swedru Stadium, Eleven Wonders’ battle for survival suffered another blow, losing 3-0 to Vision FC. The visitors wasted no time asserting dominance, with Faruk Mohammed converting a penalty in the 7th minute. Mohammed Alidu doubled the lead from the spot in the 24th minute, and Sheriff Mohammed Idrissu capped a clinical display in the 80th minute with a well-placed finish.

The defeat leaves Eleven Wonders anchored at the bottom of the table, intensifying fears of relegation as the season progresses.
