Accra Lions handed Accra Hearts of Oak a painful 1-0 defeat in their match day 28 fixture of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Issa Ibrahim scored the only goal of the match that moved the Lions to third position with 43 points, while Hearts stayed at the12th with 33 points.
It was the first win for the Lions and the fourth defeat for Hearts in their last five games, a statistic the Phobian faithful appear livid about.
After the game, the fanswho defied the rains to be at the stadium, pour their frustrationon the players for their bad performance in recent times.
According to the fans, they were confidentthat the board and management have provided the needs of the players to be at their best but they were still struggling to deliver.
“The attitude and commitment of our players are questionable. Their body language does not depict ones that are ready to die for the Phobian badge,” Michael Mensah, a fan from Kasoa stated.
Despite the storm, the fans pledged their support for the coach, Abubakar Ouattara, and called on management to do the same, believing that the players were not showing enough commitment.
Hearts’ next three fixtures will be away against Berekum Chelsea, home to Aduana Stars and away to arch-rivals, Kunasi Asante Kotoko.
