The Madagascar national football team were given a hero’s welcome home in Antananarivo on Saturday, with thousands of fans flooding the capital city’s streets to celebrate them for their historic performance at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Not even given a dog’s chance to go beyond round one, the Barea even proceeded to top the group by beating Nigeria 2-0 – and later reached the quarter-finals in what is their first ever AFCON.
The fans were filmed on the streets during the day, dancing and chanting their way into the night.
The festivities reached their peak when the national team paraded the streets on board of a truck.
Last Thursday, Madagascar were eliminated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final after losing 0-3 Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles. – news.AVA360
