Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Bryan Acheampong, has called on party faithful to rally behind his bid to lead the NPP, as he formally submitted his nomination forms yesterday.

Dr Acheampong pledged to provide unifying and decisive leadership to rebuild the party and strengthen its base ahead of the 2028 general election.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of supporters and the media shortly after filing his forms, Dr Acheampong emphasised that his vision was rooted in service, discipline, and conviction, reminding delegates that the upcoming leadership contest was not just about personalities but about securing the party’s unity and Ghana’s long-term future.

“I come to unite. I come to build. I come to lead with conviction,” he declared.

Sharing his personal journey, Dr Acheampong reflected on being raised by a single mother, a teacher who instilled in him the values of resilience, hard work, and responsibility.

He explained that those experiences gave him a unique understanding of the challenges ordinary Ghanaians face and the importance of opportunity in transforming lives.

He pointed to his record of service within the party and government, describing himself as someone who has always stood firm in moments of difficulty. He noted that leadership must be defined by courage, clarity, and the ability to take bold decisions.

“Throughout my leadership journey, I have not shied away from making bold decisions. You cannot make an impact if you don’t take a stance on the issues that matter to your community and your country,” he stated.

Outlining his priorities for Ghana, Dr Acheampong pledged to focus on food security, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.

He further underlined that building resilient food systems would ensure year-round availability and affordability, while investments in digital skills, education reform, and entrepreneurship would unlock the potential of young people.

On infrastructure, he promised smart, efficient, and future-ready projects that connect communities and support economic growth.

Within the party, he pledged to rebuild unity and reignite the NPP’s grassroots base, which he described as the “heart and soul” of the party. He urged delegates to see his candidacy as a collective mission, not a personal ambition.

“To the delegates of our great party, I invite you to walk this journey with me not because it will be easy, but because it is necessary. Together, we will secure the future of our great party and deliver the leadership Ghana deserves,” he appealed.

Dr Acheampong also highlighted the impact of the Bryan Acheampong Foundation, which has supported initiatives in education, health, women’s empowerment, and rural development, as evidence of his belief in service beyond politics.

The submission of Dr Acheampong’s nomination forms marks a significant step in the NPP’s flagbearer race, one expected to shape the direction of the party and influence Ghana’s political future.
