A Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly called Lil Win, has appeared before the Asokore Mampong District Court in connection with a recent car accident that killed a three-year-old boy.

He has been granted a GH¢50,000 bail and two justified sureties. The actor looked pale and unwell when he stood in the dock.

The 37-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm after he got involved in the accident that killed the three-year-old.

His plea was, however, not taken when he made his first appearance at the Court on Monday (June 3) and the court presided over by Mr Samuel Buabin Quansah, has adjourned the case to June 27.

The incident occurred at about 10 am on Saturday, May 25, this year, near the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi.

Lil Win’s branded Mercedes Benz reportedly travelling at high speed, collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that Lil Win’s Benz was heavily impacted, though the extent of injuries to the actor and other parties involved remained unclear.

“Lil Win was driving from the Amakom stretch to the Akwatia Line stretch, and the other vehicle was coming from the opposite direction.

“The traffic light was at rest, and when the green light showed, he drove off at top speed amid cheers from bystanders.

“To our surprise, the car collided with the oncoming vehicle in the process,” one witness recounted.

The accident took place just hours before the premiere of his movie titled “A country called Ghana” at the CCB Auditorium at the KNUST.
