Madina XI beat Dodowa XI on penalties in MCDan Peace Tourney

 Madina XI defeated Dodowa XI 7-6 on penalties after playing out a 2-2 draw to advance to the next stage of the ongoing 2024 McDan Peace and Unity Tournament at the Teshie McDan Park over the weakened.

Madina enjoyed a lion’s share of the possession but failed to find the back of the net.

Back from recess, they maintained the pressure and got the leader through striker Uzaif Ahmed on 63 minutes. He doubled it three minutes later from a goal mouth melee.

That lead lasted for just five minutes as Sampson Atido pulled one back on the 71st minute while Ashraraf Abu­bakar drew level on 75 minutes to send the game to penalties.

Nichola Kpabitey and Desmond Banibatiti missed their kicks for Dodowa while Kelvin Banga scored the decisive kick to take Madina through on a 7-6 victory.

On Sunday at the Sege Park, Ashaiman beat Ningo-Prampram 4-3 to qualify while Kpone-Katamanso beat La Nkwantanang 5-4 on penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw during regulation time.

Action would continue this weekend at the McDan La Town Park where Amanfro would play host to Achimota with East Legon against Adenta at the McDan Teshie.
