The Mohammed VI Foundation for African Oulema, Ghana Branch has donated ‘Ramadan Food Package’ and cash to a number of vulnerable groups in Accra to support them observe the month-long Ramadan fast.
The support package included cash donations and food baskets containing rice, cooking oil, sugar, milk, and tomato paste. This annual initiative forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to ease the burden on vulnerable families during the sacred fasting period.
Speaking to Ghanaian Times newspaper, the president of the Ghana branch of the foundation, Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim, expressed profound appreciation to King Mohammed VI and the Foundation for their sustained support over the years.
Sheikh Ibrahim—who also serves as Executive President of the Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services—described the gesture as a compassionate intervention that helps reduce hardship among vulnerable Muslim families and enables them to observe Ramadan with dignity. He noted that the Foundation’s broader social mission includes charitable donations, food distribution, and community-focused development projects.
The beneficiaries, consisting of physically challenged and orphan’s guardians warmly welcomed the assistance, describing it as a reflection of the enduring values of generosity, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence that define the spirit of Ramadan.
