The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has lauded the people of Bosomtwe in the for keeping faith with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the current government over the years.
He explained that the people were reaping the benefits of remaining loyal to the party, with the significant infrastructural development currently ongoing in the constituency to drive economic development.
“Let us applaud ourselves for keeping faith and remaining loyal to the NPP and the government which has resulted in significant infrastructural development currently ongoing in the constituency and you should be hopeful socioeconomic development will be sustained to drive creation of jobs and wealth and attract investment,” the MP assured.
Speaking in various churches within the constituency,Dr Adutwum, who is the Minister for Education, indicated that the NPP was reciprocating the hope, confidence and aspirations reposed in the party and the government by the people with the execution of numerous projects in the constituency.
He said there were several completed and ongoing projects, which were transforming Bosomtwe including construction of the main road linking the constituency to Kumasi to open the area for progress, growth, development, enhance the tourism potentials of Lake Bosomtwe to attract investment.
“School projects executed in the constituency since 2017, are changing the face of education in the area and I appeal to parents to take advantage to educate your children so as to contribute to accelerated development of the area and contribute meaningful to nation building.
“There were only three Senior High Schools in this constituency when the NPP returned to power in 2017, but today we have more than 10 across the constituency which is testimony of aggressive push for access to education by the NPP administration.
“Ghanaians should maintain the NPP to sustain the impactful education policy direction of the country through the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in making secondary education free to create equal opportunities for children, to realise their potentials irrespective of their economic situation,” Dr Adutwum asserted.
According to him, the era where students in rural areas were denied access to secondary education in grade A schools because of poor Basic Education Certificate Examination results were over with introduction of the Free Senior High School Policy.
He revealed that Bosomtwe would soon realise tremendous progress, growth and development following his personal project of sponsoring 150 students in the constituency to study medicine and engineering in various universities.
Dr Adutwum intimated that the idea was to produce lots of engineers and doctors as a constituency, to spearhead the development of the area, while creating opportunities for the next generation.
