MTN Ashantifest semis set for tomorrow

Four teams are set to battle it out at the semifinals stage of the ongoing 2024 MTN Ashantifest Community Gala tomorrow at the Otumfuo Park at Dechemso.

Defending champions, Ejisu, would be looking forward to retaining their title as they face Bantama in the first semifinal game.

The second semifinal would see Adoato against Amakom.

Ejisu defeated Tech 2-1 in their quarter final encounter last Thursday with goals from Yusif Kamal and Victor Asamoah for the winners, while Joseph Gordon scored the only goal for Tech.

Tech shot themselves in the foot as Nasir Pablo Aimar missed a penalty to give his side a chance at the next stage of the competition.

A very keenly-contested second quarter final encounter saw Adoato winning by Augustine Okrah’s lone goal against Atonsu to book a place at the current stage.

On Friday, Bantama defeated Abrepo 4-3 on penalties after their quarter final encounter ended one all with goals from Emmanuel Asiedu and Emmanuel Sarpong ‘Agogo’ for each side.

The last quarter final game ended with Amakom walking away with a comfortable 2-0 win over Santasi with goals from Nana Kwame and Elvis Kyei Baffour
