In a vote held on Friday, all 48 assembly members, comprising 33 elected members and 15 government appointees, endorsed the President’s nominee with a 100 per cent ‘’yes’’ vote.

The confirmation vote was conducted by the Municipal Electoral Officer, Gifty Nyamekye Manteaw, at the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly Hall.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Boakye expressed profound gratitude to the assembly members, party executives, traditional leaders, and the clergy for their support.

“My ultimate goal is to help President John Dramani Mahama effectively realise his vision and policies for our area,” Mr Boakye stated.

He also called on both local and foreign investors to consider New Juaben South as a prime destination for investment, emphasising that his tenure would create opportunities, especially for the youth.

Mr Boakye thanked President Mahama, the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, the NDC Eastern Regional Chairman, Dr Mark Oliver Kevor, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Michael Okyere Baafi, for their support.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey commended the assembly members for their unified support of the nominee.

She described the 100 per cent endorsement as a clear sign of confidence in Mr Boakye’s leadership.

She expressed optimism that with cooperation and teamwork, the municipality would witness greater development.
