A presidential aspirant of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the last elections, Amanda Akuokor Clinton, says the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has the quality to succeed at the club.
She told the GNA Sports that the decision by Nana Yaw Amponsah to join Kotoko after he failed to get the backing to become the president of the GFA was a great move.
“I think it’s a very strategic and brilliant move on his part to take up the job at Kotoko. He is very good at strategizing and outlining policies. He is a strategic guy with a lot of international connections.
“He thinks big and Kotoko would benefit from his connections. He is a great guy, way ahead of his generation,” he added,
According to Akuokor Clinton, the race for the GFA seat has toughened Amponsah for the Kotoko job would give him the platform to demonstrate his capabilities.
Akuokor Clinton was the only female contestant that joined the race to become the President of the GFA last year.
She is an international lawyer with many years of experience and founder of Clinton Consultancy.
In another development, Accra Hearts of Oak has congratulated Nana Yaw Amponsah on his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko.
Mr. Amponsah was unveiled over the weekend in Kumasi as the new CEO on a three-year contract.
A statement from the Phobians pledged to work with the new administrator to aid in the development of football in Ghana.
“We welcome Nana Yaw Amponsah to the big league. Congratulations on your appointment as the new CEO of Asante Kotoko.
“Together, we will work in partnership to aid in the development of Ghana football as we remain fierce competitors on the field,” it said.
Meanwhile, the President of Tema Youth, Wilfred Kweku Osei, popularly known as Palmer is confident Nana Yaw Amponsah will bring back the glory days of the club.
Palmer said “your understanding of the game and your management expertise is second to none and I have no doubt in mind you will bring back the glory days of Asante Kotoko.”
Palmer added “Kotoko needs you, Ghana football needs. Go out there and bring back the love.” –GNA
