Northern Ashanti Mines challenges Minerals Commission over lease revocation

Northern Ashanti Mines Limited (NAML) has challenged the Minerals Commission’s decision to revoke its mining lease and prospecting licence, accusing the commission of failing to follow due process and misrepresenting the company’s financial position and mining activities.

In a statement responding to a press release by the Minerals Commission in Accra yesterday, NAML said the only communication it received concerning the revocation was a letter dated April 30, 2026, which purported to revoke its mining lease and prospecting licence.  Read More.
