One person has died and 10 others sustained injuries following a road traffic accident at Akode No. 2, near Aseseso on the Adukrom–Somanya Highway on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and involved two Hyundai H100 passenger vehicles with registration numbers ER 1564-21 and ER 1660-21.
Personnel from the Kpong Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the distress call. A crew was dispatched at and arrived at the scene.
Firefighters assisted in rescue operations, attending to the victims and ensuring the area was safe.
The 10 injured persons were rushed to the Yilo Krobo Hospital for medical treatment. One person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined as investigations continue.
Authorities are urging drivers plying the Adukrom–Somanya stretch to drive cautiously to prevent further crashes.
