Parliament has backed an investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) into an alleged payment of GH¢70,000 reportedly received by the Deputy Minority Leader and Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Mrs Patricia Appiagyei, during the recent vetting of ministerial nominees.

A memorandum dated September 2, 2026, and copied to the Minority Chief Whip and the Minority Leader, alleged that Mrs Appiagyei had directed that the money be returned to the Majority Chief Whip, Mr Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor, because she did not know its source and felt uncomfortable receiving it.
