The 33-year-old pregnant woman who was the first to test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Upper East Region, has recovered and tested negative after weeks of treatment at the treatment centre in Bolgatanga.
Regional Minister Ms Paulina Tangoba Abayage, who confirmed this to the Ghanaian Times here on Thursday said, although the woman had tested negative after undergoing intensive healthcare, she would be tested again to ascertain whether she should be discharged to join her family.
It would be recalled that the patient exhibited symptoms of COVID-19, when she visited the maternity unit of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital to deliver, and her sample was immediately dispatched to Kumasi for testing, which proved positive.
