Process more cashew to boost Africa’s earnings – Agric Minister

African countries have been urged to increase investment in cashew processing and value addition to derive greater economic benefits from the commodity.

The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, in a speech read on his behalf said Africa could no longer afford to export large quantities of raw cashew nuts while other countries reaped the greater benefits from processing and value addition.

He made the call in Accra yesterday at the opening of the 2026 African Cashew Alliance (ACA) Annual Cashew Conference and Exhibition. Read More
