Matchday Four of the CAF Champions League produced decisive movements across all four groups, as commanding home performances, crucial away victories and dramatic comebacks reshaped the race for the quarter-finals at the halfway stage of the group phase.

Defending champions Pyramids FC tightened their grip on Group A with a dominant home display in Cairo, while Sudanese giants Al-Hilal Omdurman seized control of Group C with a statement win over Mamelodi Sundowns on neutral ground.

Group B remains finely balanced after Al Ahly were held in Zanzibar and AS FAR Rabat secured a narrow home victory, while resilience on the road allowed Stade Malien to stay top of Group D despite growing pressure from their closest challengers.

Group A: Pyramids pull clear as Power Dynamos revive hopes

Pyramids FC moved to the brink of qualification following a commanding 3–0 victory over RS Berkane in Cairo.

Mahmoud Abdel Hafeez “Zalaka” opened the scoring early before Nasser Maher and Ahmed Atef “Qatta” completed a dominant performance that lifted the Egyptian side to 10 points, three clear at the top of the group.

In Port Harcourt, Power Dynamos reignited their campaign with a disciplined 1–0 away win over Rivers United, courtesy of Kundwani Chiboni’s second-half strike. The Zambian side climbed to four points, while Rivers United remain bottom.

Group C: Al-Hilal seize summit as MC Alger strike back

Al-Hilal Omdurman moved clear at the top of Group C after a statement 2–1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in Kigali.

A stoppage-time penalty from Mohammed Abdel Rahman handed the Sudanese champions the lead before Jean-Claude Girumugisha doubled the advantage early in the second half. Sundowns responded through Arthur Sales, but Al-Hilal held firm to secure all three points.

In Algiers, MC Alger recorded their first win of the campaign with a controlled 2–0 victory over St Éloi Lupopo, lifting both teams to four points, with the Algerians edging ahead on goal difference.

Group D: Stade Malien hold firm as Esperance show resilience

Stade Malien maintained top spot in Group D after a hard-fought 0–0 draw away to Petro Atletico.

The Angolan side missed a late penalty that could have altered the standings, allowing Stade Malien to escape with a valuable away point and preserve their unbeaten run.

In Dar es Salaam, Esperance de Tunis strengthened their qualification hopes with a dramatic 2–2 draw against Simba SC, recovering from a two-goal deficit. Aboubacar Diakité and Kouceila Boualia struck after the break, though a missed stoppage-time penalty denied Esperance a memorable comeback victory.
