The Sadaqa Train Foundation (ST) has donated assorted clothing, Islamic learning materials and educational supplies to Tambokurugu in the North East Region, as part of its fourth quarter humanitarian outreach aimed at promoting community welfare, health and spiritual development.

The items, presented in the late hours of the visit, included seven bags of clothing, 10 prayer mats, 20 ablution cans, five Qur’ans, 20 copies of Juz Yaasin, 100 exercise books, 100 pens, 80 erasers, 60 pencils, five packs of markers and a white marker board.

The donation, according to the foundation, was warmly received by the chief and people of Tambokurugu.

The outreach began with a formal community entry, during which the ST team was received by the chief and elders of Tambokurugu. The team leader, Hisham Osman, introduced members of the delegation and outlined the purpose of the visit, explaining that the foundation’s work was rooted in the Islamic principle of caring for others.

He said the visit would combine spiritual encouragement, health education, medical screening and material support. Community members, including children and the elderly, gathered in large numbers to participate in the activities.

A brief sermon delivered by Abdul Rahim urged residents to uphold the teachings of Islam through sincere worship of Allah, righteous living and responsible use of their time, wealth and physical strength. He stressed that lifelong learning and practice of Islam were essential to spiritual accountability.

Health interventions formed a key part of the exercise. More than 200 residents were screened, with children tested for malaria and adults checked for blood pressure and sugar levels. Those with serious medical concerns were referred to nearby health facilities, while deworming medication was administered to some participants. The medical support generated visible excitement and appreciation among the residents.

In his closing remarks, Mr Osman thanked the community for its cooperation and prayed that the donated items would be used effectively. He expressed the foundation’s commitment to sustaining the relationship and hinted at future visits to Tambokurugu.
