The Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) has received assorted medical equipment and GH¢120,000 from Stanbic Bank to support the development of its medical tourism department and enhance quality healthcare delivery. Presenting the donation, Head of Brand and Marketing at Stanbic Bank, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, explained that the equipment, including desktop computers, printers, metal cabinets, air conditioners, and swivel chairs, would provide a solid foundation for a functional medical tourism centre capable of delivering efficient and high-standard services.
Mr Afadzinu emphasised that Stanbic Bank’s support extends beyond providing banking services, reflecting its commitment to the health and wellbeing of Ghanaians. “We are committed to partnering with health institutions like Ho Teaching Hospital to ensure quality healthcare and patient comfort,” he said. He noted that the HTH was a crucial pillar in the Volta Region and Ghana, and added that the bank would continue to support efforts to build a medical tourism centre that meets international standards and serves patients from across Ghana and neighbouring African countries.
The CEO of Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr Hintermann K.K. Mbroh, expressed gratitude for the bank’s support, highlighting the potential of the medical tourism centre to transform healthcare delivery in the country. He assured that the funds and equipment would be used judiciously and urged other organisations to emulate Stanbic Bank’s initiative in promoting medical tourism for the benefit of all. Dr Mbroh concluded that partnerships like this would spark lasting change in the healthcare sector and enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide holistic and high-quality care to patients.
