The Twifo Praso Divisional Police Command on Monday, arrested an 18-year-old man, Kumi Gyesi Felix, for allegedly peddling drugs.
Fourteen suspects escaped the police swoop at Bankyease, a suburb of TwifoPraso, in the Central Region.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Irene SerwaahOppong, Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), on Wednesday.
She said the police embarked on a swoop at TwifoPraso, Bankyease and its environs in the region, to flush out illicit drug peddlers.
DSP Oppong said members of a gang on seeing the police, took to their heels, but luck eluded Felix and he was arrested.
She said the gang left behind ten wrappers of whitish substances, suspected to be cocaine, 16 boxes of Rothmans cigarettes, 12 boxes of matches, five packets of paper wrappers, one torch light, eight mobile phones, one Ghana Card, bearing the name of Emmanuel Dadzie, and an amount of GH₵12.50.
