The 2025 edition of the Accra Seniors Open Tennis Tournament is set to commence today at the Accra Lawn Tennis Courts (ALTC) at Ridge in Accra.
This year’s edition has attracted close to 200 players with high expectation. Registration ended last week Thursday and was followed by draws for the respective groupings.
According to Mr. Peter Annan, the Tournament Coordinator, players would play in various age groupings:
- Doubles Men 35/44 – about 21 pairs
- Men’s 45/54 – 12 pairs
- Men’s 55/64 – 4 pairs
- Men’s 65/74 – 6 pairs
- Men’s 75 plus – 3 pairs
The Men Semi Pro 30/40 is expected to produce a lot of fireworks with 4 pairs of teams. Men Semi Pros 41 plus have 5 teams, Ladies up to 39 have 5 pairs, while Ladies 40 plus also have 5 pairs.
As of the closing of registration, 16 pairs have registered for the Mixed Doubles Social event, which is expected to be thrilling.
Mr. Annan told the Times Sports that this year’s edition would be exciting as players aim to put up their best.
