New Hearts of Oak signing Abednego Tetteh has prioritised winning a trophy with the club over individual accolades.
The former Bechem United and Al Hilal striker is confident of helping the club end their trophy drought this season. The Phobians have not won a major trophy since 2009.
“First of all, I am a supporter of Hearts of Oak, I was born a fan of the club and by God’s grace I have joined them,” he told FootballMadeinGhana.com.
“I didn’t join Hearts for personal glory. As a player, you must be a team player, so that the team that is paying your salaries will reap the benefits.
He added, “I know Hearts of Oak haven’t won a trophy in the last ten years, so as a fan, I’m hungrier than the club as regards to winning a trophy. If we fail to win the league, we will win the FA Cup.
“That’s my first priority because Hearts is still in the two competitions.
“I will be more satisfied if Hearts win a trophy because Hearts did not buy me to win the goal king race; they bought me to come and help to win a cup.
Football competitions in the country have been suspended until further notice because of corona virus pandemic. –Ghanasoccernet.com
