The Harmonious Chorale -Ghana, one of the Nations and Africa’s leading and most
decorated Ensembles, has announced an exciting calendar of activities for the year 2026, marking a period of musical excellence, international representation, spiritual ministry and a major milestone in the Choir’s history.
As of today, the 1st of February 2026, the below are the confirmed major outlines of the Choir’s amidst other equally important private engagements and functions.
The year begins early in March for the Choir as it’s Executive Chairman, Rev. Dr. Joyce
Rosalind Aryee turns eighty (80) years. The Music Directorate of the Choir, headed by its founder and Executive Director, James Varrick Armaah (PhD), is putting together a grand Musical concert in honour of the 80th birthday Celebration. This prestigious event will allow the Choir the chance to celebrate her life, service and enduring impact on the Choir and the choral music fraternity through carefully curated choral performance, something she does not joke with.
In May 2026, The Harmonious Chorale-Ghana will represent the nation and Africa on the global stage at The International Festival of Orthodox Church Music, a competitive choral festival to be held in Bialystok, Poland. This Competition will bring together Professional and semi-professional Choirs from around the world carefully selected at the invitation of the Orthodox Church music foundation in Poland, offering an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian choral artistry and cultural excellence.
The international assignments continue in August 2026, when the Choir participates in
the World Choir Games 2026 in Sweden. This globally acclaimed event is one of the largest choral competitions in the world and the Choir being con_rmed as participants
in the Champions Categories clearly re_ects our commitment to artistic growth, excellence and the capacity to show a strong ability for cultural exchanges. The Choir participated in the World Choir Games when it was hosted in South Africa in 2018 and
won gold in all the categories competed in and was eventually crowned ‘Champion of the World Choir Cames’ category C-28, a newly created category in the games.

In October 2026, The Harmonious Chorale-Ghana will host a Grand Concert in Kumasi,
which will also serve as the o_cial launch of the Choir’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
This landmark event will commemorate two decades of musical ministry, performance
and impact, bringing together Patrons, music lovers and stakeholders from across the
country and globe.
The year will conclude in December 2026 with the highly anticipated Christmas Sing
Along 4, continuing the Choir’s tradition of festive worship, community engagements
and joyful celebration of the Christmas season through music.
In addition to these major events, The Harmonious Chorale-Ghana will also undertake a couple of campus ministry engagements, reaffirming its dedication to nurturing faith,
inspiring young people and using music as a tool for spiritual formation and outreach.
In a statement by the Founder and Executive Director, James Varrick Armaah (PhD) on
the general outlook of the Choir’s year, he assured patrons of music and the general populace that the Choir still remains very focused on it’s mission to promote Ghanaian
and African choral and Western classical music whilst touching lives through our performances and this will re_ect in all of the Choir’s activities throughout the year 2026.
