A total of 229 needy but brilliant students studying in various universities and other tertiary institutions on Monday received a total of GH¢320,000 as scholarship fund from the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tolon, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu.

This is to enable them pursue their education devoid of hassle.

The money was proceeds from the Soyalana Educational Endowment Fund, an initiative of the MP launched in 2021 with the objective to support brilliant but needy students in the Tolon Constituency.

“As an elected representative of the people, it is my duty to bridge this gap and provide opportunities for growth and development,” he said.

According to the MP, the scheme was not just about financial aid, but recognising and celebrating talented resilient students for their desire to succeed in their academic aspirations.

“Investing in these young individuals, we are investing in the future of our constituency and our nation,” he added.

The MP stated through the scholarship scheme a generation of educated individuals were being developed and empowered significantly to contribute in various fields, be it medicine, engineering, law, or any other sphere of academic pursuits.
