The Volta Regional Director of National Communication Authority (NCA), Mr David Dartey, has donated two sets of jerseys, footballs and other sporting equipment to Mawuli School, his alma mater in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, on Monday.
The donation was to support and motivate the school in this year’s inter-schools’ competition.
According to him, he was ready to support the school in the tournament to bring more laurels to the region, stressing “there is no shred of doubt that the school has a good promising pool of talents to excel.”
However, DrDartey said it was important for the team to work hard and be disciplined on the field.
“You can become good sportsmen and women after school if you take your training seriously,” he told the Times Sports later at the training grounds.
The Headmaster of the school, Mr Gustav Jonathan Adomah, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked the donor for the gesture.
He said the items had come at the right time “when the number of our sportsmen and women keep increasing and we needed more of such support.” Mr Adomah assured that the items would be put good use to motivate our boys and girls win more laurels for the school.
