The West Coast PGA Championship has been announced and slated for the Achimota Golf Course on September 4-8.
The professional golf championship forms part of ‘the Road to Damang’ qualifiers for the PGA Damang Open 2023 in the Western region.
The championship will commence Monday, September 4 with an opening ceremony expected to be attended by the President of PGA Ghana, Mr Mark Coffie.
It would be played in accordance with the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, St Andrews and the local rules of Achimota Golf Club.
The Director of Operations of the PGA, Alhaji Ahmed Padori, expressed his excitement about the forthcoming event, emphasising the intensive preparations underway to ensure a successful tournament.
He mentioned the likes of Vincent Torgah, Kojo Barni, Lucky Ayisah, E.K. Osei, Maxwell Owusu and the leader on the ranking table, Augustine Manasseh, as those expected to feature in the tournament.
He also announced that the Achimota Golf Club would organise a pro-am tournament on Friday, September 8 to climax the event and commended Gold Fields Ghana for the support they have enjoyed over the years.
