The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that the growing popularity of shisha, vapes and other emerging nicotine products in Ghana could undermine the country’s gains in tobacco control, particularly among young people.
It said the country’s relatively low smoking prevalence of 4.8 per cent should not lead to complacency, as tobacco use was increasingly shifting towards newer products marketed in attractive forms and flavours
The WHO Country Representative, Dr Joana Ansong, gave the warning in Accra yesterday at the opening of a two-day training workshop for media practitioners on tobacco control. . Read More
